HUNTER’S SAFETY COURSE

Our Hunter’s Safety Classes are scheduled for June 19th, 21st, and 23rd, 2012 and August 7th, 9th, and 11th.  You may contact Larry Dowden at 309-527-2562 if you have any questions and/or are interested in signing up for this class.

2012 Wild Game Banquet

This year’s banquet was February 4th at the Interstate Center on Rt. 9 West Bloomington, IL.  There were over 760 people attending this years banquet. Thanks to our local businesses - Smiley’s Sport Shop, Chuck’s Harley Davidson, Erickson Automotive, Darnall Gun Range, and Darnall Printing & Signmaking for using their locations to make tickets available to sell to you.

This was our 21st annual banquet and everyone enjoyed a great dinner prepared by C J’s Catering.  Thanks to CJ’s and all their employees in making this event a huge success. Also a big thanks to the Haycraft Autioneers for helping in our live auction.   Last but not least THANKS to all of you that attended and/or supported us through your donations to make this banquet a success, without your support we couldn’t do this. THE REAL WINNERS ARE THE KIDS OF MCLEAN COUNTY.  THAT’S  WHY WE DO THIS.

Mark your calendar now for next year’s banquet, it will be on the first Saturday in February again at the Interstate Center.  Watch for more details as that date gets closer.

MILLER PARK FISHING DERBY

June 9, 2012 is the scheduled date for the McLean County Sportsmen’s Association and the City of Bloomington’s Fishing Derby at Miller Park Lake.  Keep checking back to this site for updated information as things may change if the water level at Miller Park Lake doesn’t improve.  This is an opportunity for all kids ages from 6 - 13 to catch some fish and have some fun.  Mark your calendar.

McLEAN COUNTY SPORTSMEN’S ASSOCIATION WING SHOOTING CLINIC

The dates for this event are April 28th and 29th, 10:00am to 4:00pm at Moraine View State Recreation Area, LeRoy, IL.  This event is open to all young men ages 10 - 15 and young women ages 10 and up.  The goal is to provide safety education in handling firearms.  Sign up by contacting the Moraine View State Recreation Office at 309-724-8032.
